BLOWOUT FRACTURE
This guitar trio was brought together by German bassist Alexander Binder in late 2009 in Lucerne, Switzerland. He enlisted the talents of friends and fellow classmates Swiss French guitarist Laurent Méteau and Irish drummer Matthew Jacobson. The three immediately found common ground and began working on original material.
Between them their influences include contemporary classical, jazz, pop and electronica and their collaborative approach to both composing and performing results in an open and hybrid sound.
They recorded at TonStudio Gabriel in Switzerland in Spring 2010, received the Lucerne University Ida & Albert Flersheim award for best band 2010, and undertook a “Fondue, Currywurst & Irish Stew - Tour“ across Germany and Switzerland in December 2011. They also performed at the Hors Tribu Festival in Neuchâtel in August 2012 and recorded a video with up-and-coming film producer Joshua Bourke at #12 Rutland, Dublin in September 2013. The band are currently planning their debut album and their second tour around Germany and Switzerland (December 2014, dates TBC) and meet regularly between New York, Ireland, Germany and Swtizerland to rehearse and develop new material.
